Is Keri Russell Heading Toward An Uncontested Divorce?

|

It was recently learned that Keri Russell, whom Baton Rouge readers may know from the hit FX series "The Americans," had separated from her husband of seven years.

Apparently, Russell and Shane Deary separated over the summer, but news of their split only recently broke.

Russell and Deary, who met when he did contracting work on her New York City residence, wed on Valentine's Day 2007. They have two children together, a 6-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter.

Now, we are not writing about this story because we're all that interested in celebrity dirt. Rather, what caught our eye here is that Russell and Deary seem to have separated amicably. If gossip magazines didn't catch wind of their split for almost 6 months, then there was probably very little drama or turmoil. This seems to suggest that the two are headed toward an uncontested divorce.

As Baton Rouge divorce lawyers, we focus a great amount of our practice on helping clients who want to end their marriages without any of the fuss or drama you hear about in divorce horror stories. Uncontested divorces -- those in which the spouses agree with each other on the terms of the divorce -- are not the right remedy for the end of every marriage, but in situations in which they are appropriate, they're often exactly what both soon-to-be-ex-spouses are looking for.

Now, separating smoothly and civilly does take a little work. You probably have some questions about how to best go about this process. We want you to know that you are free to contact us if you are interested in learning more about uncontested divorce and how or if the process will work for you.
